This Middle Eastern stock photo site is training an A.I. image generator that more accurately creates images of authentic Arab culture.I advised them on how to create content around this and their other projects.

I was one of the designers commissioned by the Government of Dubai to brainstorm ideas for its Roads and Transport Authority, using A.I. and other technologies to create a more futuristic way of performing annual vehicle safety checks.This was more than two years ago - I was part of the first wave of people to be using generative A.I. in professional design projects.

I am currently helping a language learning company to improve their AI content creation workflow, to make more fun and engaging educational materials for schools in the USA.

Everything in this is 100% AI (except the historical documents and maps). AI video is an amazing opportunity for the education and history niches, as it allows the creation of scenes that would be too expensive to film for anyone but the largest Hollywood projects.

WHAT IS GENERATIVE A.I. AND WHY SHOULD YOU CARE?

Generative A.I is a subset of artificial intelligence that uses generative
models to produce text, images, videos, or other forms of data.

Five things you should understand about generative A.I. and the creative industries:

  • Generative A.I. will wipe out many huge corporations. Education giant Chegg's stock price is down 99% because of ChatGPT. Meanwhile, tiny teams of people who know how to use A.I. will become enormously rich.

  • A.I. automation will make every creative industry unrecognisable in the next few years. Just like software completely transformed the world economy in the 1990s, A.I. agents will do the same in the 2020s.

  • Generative A.I. is not "good" or "bad", just like the internet is not "good" or "bad". It's a huge danger for some and a huge opportunity for others - but it's so powerful that it will be impossible to stop.
